These are a few of my favorite things…Leave a comment

So this work week is hectic with one night being Back to School Night and another night will be spent preparing for a sub since I have a personal day on Friday. So since I don’t have too much time for baking or cooking, I thought I would dedicate a post to some of my favorite things for the kitchen. These are the tools that I couldn’t live without and I highly recommend to anyone.

1. KitchenAid Mixer
If you don’t have one, you need to get one. This machine is amazing and I can’t wait to collect some more attachments for it.

2. Ice Cream Maker
Once you make your own ice cream, there will be a rare occasion when you buy it from the store. With a little effort, you can have your own delicious, homemade ice cream.

3. Microplane Grater
I now own 2 of these wonderful graters, one for zesting and one for cheese grating. One day I hope to have all of them in my collection. They work wonderfully and love that they don’t take up a ton of space.

4. Pampered Chef Chopper
This chopper finely dices and saves a lot of your precious time.

5. Panini Press
If you are a lover of melted cheese, a panini press is a must! You can make endless combinations of sandwiches with this lovely pan.

6. Cookie Press and Decorating Kit
Not only can you make delicious cookie gun cookies (my favorite), but this doubles as a decorating kit as well!

7. Santoku Knife
I had so much trouble mincing and chopping herbs before I invested in this knife. I am sure there is a better quality out there, but so far I have been very satisfied with Martha’s inexpensive version.

8. Splash free mixing bowls
I first saw these bowls on the Food Network and knew that I needed to have them. I bought mine at Kohl’s, but couldn’t seem to find them on their site. I love how their shape prevents from spills and the best thing is they can double as serving bowls!

9. A Dutch Oven
It is the time of year when your dutch oven is constantly in the works making soups and stews. Mine was the pick of my UNC grad husband so it is baby blue.

10. Food Network Magazine
As I mentioned before, I read 3 food magazines cover to cover, but I think this is the one I couldn’t live without. There are tons of recipes from your favorite stars.
