Brownie Batter Ice Cream10 Comments

brownie (1 of 1)

If you didn’t already know, July is National Ice Cream Month and I have been eating my body weight in ice cream all month long. It started with finishing off the strawberry ice cream, making a second batch of graham slam ice cream, and the past little bit has been dedicated to this flavor. I haven’t tried homemade cake batter ice cream yet, but intend to soon. I am more of a chocolate lover so as soon as I saw this recipe, it was bumped to the top of my list. I am so glad I decided to make this. Growing up I always had a tendency to lick the bowl of brownie mix and I think this ice cream delivers the same idea in a safer way. It comes together with incredible ease and is incredibly yummy & decadent.

PS I love everything about this photo, it is my favorite shot of mine to date. I know I still have a lot to learn, but don’t I have a great hand model?

Brownie Batter Ice Cream
(Printable Recipe)

2 cups Heavy Whipping Cream
1 cup Whole Milk
½ cups Granulated Sugar
2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
1 pinch Salt
¼ cups Cocoa Powder (good Quality)
1-¼ cup Dry Brownie Mix

What you’ll do:

A few hours in advance, place the ice cream maker bowl and paddle into the freezer to completely freeze. In a large bowl or measuring cup, stir all ingredients together until combined. I used a whisk to ensure everything was thoroughly combined. Cover and refrigerate 1-2 hours. Place the frozen ice cream bowl and paddle onto the machine and cover with the clear lid. Turn the machine on and pour the ice cream base through the top of the machine into the moving bowl. Churn 15-20 minutes until frozen and smooth. Eat as is or scoop into a large tupperware container, cover and freeze. Store in the freezer until ready to serve.
