Happy Labor Day! Today marks the unofficial end to summer. It is funny how my internal clock switches to fall so easily. I no longer want to sit by the pool, and long for the cooler air. I want to wear jeans with cardigans and flip-flops. I am even more excited for fall this year because I have bookmarked tons of new recipes that will be perfect for the cooler weather. Lots of ones with apples which I am pretty excited about, and plenty of soups. Since this was my first year blogging an entire summer I thought it might be fun to highlight some of my favorite things that I have made. Below you will find my favs and a quick recap of each.
I kicked off the summer with this Strawberry Lemonade. It was the perfect drink for those hot summer nights.
I was determined to be a grilling master by the end of the summer, and I think I succeeded. These Pulled Hawaiian Chicken Sandwiches were the perfect balance of sweet and tangy.
We had these Grilled Chicken Fajitas for my birthday dinner yesterday. I wish there were more grilling months just for this recipe.
This Grilled Peach Salsa was Blair’s favorite. I loved the addition of basil to the salsa.
I tried my hand at making my own buns, and I don’t think I will ever go back to store-bought.
This Grilled Asparagus with goat cheese was one of my favorites. I made it twice in one week. I also proclaimed at a wedding this summer that I would marry goat cheese if I could…obsessed much?!
What would summer be without ice cream? Even though I made a lot of it this summer this recipe takes the cake….Brownie Batter ice cream.
And finally we celebrated the Phillies at my Foodbuzz party with these Peanut Butter Kandy Kakes.
